Cheap Car Rental in Fort Lauderdale: How to Find the Best Deals (2026 Guide)
A rental car in Fort Lauderdale doesn't have to mean an airport counter, a line, and a bill that grew on the way to the desk. At Atlas, a 2024 Volkswagen Jetta is $65 a day, delivered to you — no counter, no airport concession fee, and the delivery cost shown before you pay.

Below is what a rental actually costs with us, and the handful of decisions that genuinely change the number.

What a three-day rental actually costs

Most rental pricing is only clear at the end. Here is ours in full, for a three-day Jetta delivered in Fort Lauderdale:

  • Vehicle — $195.00 (3 days at $65/day)
  • Delivery — $20.00. Free in Hollywood and Dania Beach, $20 in Fort Lauderdale and Hallandale Beach, $30 in Aventura and Davie
  • Mileage — included. 200 miles per day, then $0.35 per additional mile
  • Damage waiver — optional. Standard $14.95/day with a $1,000 deductible, Premium $24.95/day with $250
  • Renter liability — only if we can't verify your own insurance, then $33/day
  • Tolls — as used. SunPass-tracked and billed back after your trip
  • Total before tax — $215.00, itemized before you pay
  • Security deposit — $300, a hold rather than a charge, released after you return the car
Rates are current at the time of writing; live pricing for every vehicle is on our fleet page.

Cheapest doesn't always mean best value

Compare the total, not the advertised daily rate. Worth checking before you book anywhere:

  • Vehicle age and condition
  • Airport concession and facility fees
  • What the deposit is, and when it's released
  • Whether insurance is required or optional
  • Mileage limits and the overage rate
  • How tolls are billed
A lower headline rate often costs more once those land.

Book early

Fort Lauderdale demand spikes around cruise sailings, winter travel and spring break. Booking a few weeks ahead usually gets you a better choice of vehicle and more flexible delivery times.

Choose the right vehicle

Traveling as a couple or solo, the 2024 Volkswagen Jetta is the economical pick. With family, luggage or beach kit, the 2023 Volkswagen Taos adds room without much penalty at the pump. A 2024 Honda HR-V is joining the fleet shortly.

Insurance: what you'll actually pay

If you have your own auto insurance and we can verify it, you pay nothing extra — a damage waiver stays optional. If you can't verify coverage, renter liability is $33 a day.

Optional damage waivers are $14.95/day with a $1,000 deductible, or $24.95/day with a $250 deductible. A waiver is not insurance; it limits what you owe for damage to our vehicle.

Tolls

South Florida runs on electronic tolls. We track them with SunPass and bill them back to you after the rental — no stopping, no cash lanes, and no administrative surprise, because the charge is the toll.

Where we deliver

Atlas is locally owned and delivery-only. We come to you across Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Hallandale Beach, Dania Beach, Davie and Aventura, plus nearby South Broward. Delivery is free in Hollywood and Dania Beach, $20 in Fort Lauderdale and Hallandale Beach, and $30 in Aventura and Davie.

Drivers must be at least 23. We don't charge a young-driver fee. Cancel at least 24 hours before your start time for a full refund. Full details are on our FAQ page.

Affordable doesn't have to mean basic

Book a little ahead, pick the vehicle that fits the trip, and check the total rather than the headline rate. That's most of the saving — and none of it requires settling for a tired car or an hour in line.
